A game of ring around the RosieFor Makayla's birthday party she decided she wanted to have a "few" friends over and have a spa party. I set the limit at 8. On Friday I picked the girls up from school and we headed to my house. The 1st thing several people said was, you're taking them from school and having them all night? Are you crazy? Well, yes indeed I am! 5 giggly girls walked home with me and 4 more showed up shortly there after(I know 5 + 4 does not = 8). After they settled in we started the spa treatments. Thank goodness for Mommy friends because I would not have been able to do it all on my own. Janai, Caroline and Michele helped save the day. Jo Dee lent me some tubs so the girls could soak their feet in warm water and some facial clothes so they could cover their faces with aromatherapy soaked towels. We talked in fancy accents and the girls quickly caught on to this! Audrey was especially good at it and had us all laughing. Then we scrubbed the girls feet (yes I know, I know I AM crazy) and put lotion on them. It was funny how some just melted at the idea of this (Lila mostly) and others couldn't stop laughing so hard because it tickled (Abby). Then we painted their toes and fingers. After this we took a break to eat pizza, and open presents. Then it was on to pink cupcakes with pink frosting and pink sprinkles (can you guess Makayla's favorite color?) The girls headed back downstairs for a little karaoke singing and dancing (Makayla got a Jonas Brothers CD and the new Cheetah Girls-One World CD). Thank goodness I had the downstairs to send them too!!! Then we did the girls make-up. OK well actually the girls did each others make up. So it wasn't quite how I pictured of everyone with beautifully done make up and pretty little princess hair. It was more like the more the better, EEK! Michele, being the fabulous sister that she is, suggested that the girls do MY make up! Soon I had 9 sets of hands on my face making me oh so beautiful. I had globs of glittery bliss all over! I was gorgeous. After more karaoke-ing I got out the air mattresses and lined up the girls to settle down (ha ha) and watch Madagascar. 2 of them weren't able to spend the night but the rest fell asleep about 11:00. Not too bad. Oh except at about 12:30 they all woke up and thought it was morning time and started playing dress-up! After a realization that it was indeed the middle of the night they settled back down and fell asleep. I tried to get a picture of all of them lined up sleeping (this was my favorite part of the party after all) but I didn't dare use my flash and wake them up! The morning came around 7 and was full of food and giggles. Most of them were gone by about 10:30. We all had a great time minus a few girl drama moments. What am I gonna do when they are 13? Ahhh, oh well. I am grateful that Makayla hangs out with a good group of girls. They were all great.

I'm offended you didn't invite me to talk fancy with you! You know I'm the expert when it comes to fancy talk.
