Perfect

This is just like a picture we had taken at our wedding except they were white lillies instead of red ones.

Tom and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on Friday. We went to Stehekin which is on the upper end of Lake Chelan. We had such a wonderful time, the weather was great and it was so peaceful up there. To get there you take a passenger ferry (we took the "fast" boat which was about 2 1/2 hours). Our hotel was right as you get off the boat. There is also a small restaurant and a general store. It is pretty remote so there wan't very many people there which made it nice too! No phones, no cell phone reception, no t.v. Just time to BE. It was so nice to be able to have a whole conversation without being interupted and to take time to be with each other. It was just what we needed.

On the boat ride up to Stehekin: we had to leave Puyallup at 4:30am!

Our 1st day there(thursday) we a little chilly with the wind but it was still nice

On Friday morning we decided to rent bicycles to go up to the bakery where they had expresso! It was about 2 miles each way. After our kayaking trip on Friday we went on a short hike(about 4 miles) on the Lakeshore trail. At this spot the entire hillside from up at the very top all the way down to the lake was covered in these tall purple wildflowers. It was an amazing site Friday night for dinner we went up to the Stehekin Valley Ranch. They serves BBQ ribs and chicken with all the trimmings buffet ranch style. They food was delicious! We ate WAY too much! The tables were long picnic tables with sawdust/woodchips on the floor. It was farm style.

Saturday was the most beautiful day. The lake was a smooth as glass. We had the kitchen pack us a to go lunch and rode the shuttle up to High Bridge to hike. This picture was on Agnes Gorge Trail. It was about a 3 1/2 mile(each way) hike but was pretty easy. The waterfall at the end was about 312 feet. It had beautiful views of the gorge and the mountains. We ate lunch and the headed out for another trail. The 2nd trail we hiked was to Coon Lake. It was only about 1 1/2 miles(each way) but was much steeper. After we finished we decided to start walking down the road unti the shuttle came. I had kidded with Tom that I was going to be running a half marathon that day so we should hike 13 miles. By the time the shuttle picked us up we hiked about 16 miles! Phew! This is Stehekin's School. It is a 2 room school that had 21 students this year. It was from K-8th grade and had 1 teacher! Can you imagine???
On our last night (Saturday) there this was the sunset. It was very peaceful. We had such a great time and would recommend it to anyone that needs to "get away"!

And to my husband: Thank you. It's been 10 years worth of happiness, life changing events, and I wouldn't choose anyone else in the world to share these things with. I love you with all my heart.
