Take me out to the Ball Game

Buy me some Peanuts and Cracker Jacks. OK I'll stop now, but I love that song. Tom and I were able to go to yesterdays Mariner's Game. We had gotten tickets from Tom's work and they were great seats. My favorite thing about a Mariner's game? The garlic fries! I love them!! So we got a order before we went to our seats and then grab a few other things to eat before we settled in our seats to watch the Mariner's beat the A's 7-3. It was a beautiful day and the roof was open. We had a great time.

A Visit to Mimi and Mia

Jo Dee and I went up to Children's to visit with Mimi and Mia yesterday. Mia is so darling and it was good to get to see her. She has a few tubes around but looks like a chunky, healthy baby girl. We took Mimi out to a really good Thai food place and got to have some good laughs together. It was nice to see Mimi and give her a little reprieve from hospital salads! I think Jo Dee and I kept her quite entertained between our entrance (we came into Mia's room with costumes and danced to "Everybody Dance Now") , finding a restaurant and my fabulous ability to parallel park and many other topics. We eventually got pushed out of the restaurant because they were closing so we took Mimi back to the hospital hopefully to get a little rest. I'm pretty sure we all were stuffed to the brims! It was golden! :-)

The Phantom

Last night I had a great "girls date" when 5 of us went to see The Phantom Of The Opera. Me, Kerri, Michele, Sandy, and Chantalle met up and went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then walked up to the Paramount where we had awesome seats. We were 18 rows back on the floor so we had a great view of everything. I loved the show. We all had a great time.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KERRI!!!

So I have to say a quick Happy Birthday to my big sis Kerri. Her and I are best friends and she is an amazing person. Kerri has gone through things in her whole life that I would think only happens on T.V. shows, but no, they happen to her. She was a single mom most of her life and is back in that saddle in the last year. She is one of the strongest woman I know and I inspire to have 1/10th of her courage and strength. So here's to you sista, I love ya.

Fergie at the Fair

Yesterday Kerri and I went and saw Fergie at the Puyallup Fair. Well 1st we went on rides and then went to the concert. I forgot how fun rides are and I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while. I think Kerri and I were laughing more at ourselves then anything. It seems that if you are smiling while going on a windy ride your lips stick to your gums! OK so no one else might get what I'm talking about but trust me, it was some funny stuff. The concert was pretty good when Fergie was singing but it seems like she didn't sing much. She didn't start until about 8:45 and had 3 costume changes and was done by about 10. Although she genuinely seemed "real" so to speak. Overall we had a good time.

A Baker's Dozen

Quite a few of us are holding a bake sale this week to raise money for Baby Mia. It will be at the YMCA all week. Last night I made some cupcakes and Dylan woke up this morning and spied them. He wanted the one with blue sprinkles. I explained about Mia and that we were raising money to help her and somehow this really touched him. When we got to the Y he told everyone that would listen for a moment about how Mia has an owee on her heart and if you pay money you can get a cupcake. When I got home I was welcomed with a rush of cookie smell. My mom makes the best cookies in the whole world. I think she whipped up 4-5 dozen cookies and 2 batches of cupcakes and a pumpkin cobbler for the sale.

Fishing with the Kids

The kids LOVE to go fishing with Daddy but usually I don't go. I decided to go with them this time and get some pictures and enjoy some time with Tom and the kids. We went down to a little lake right by our house and set up to fish. OK I guess I should say 1st we got coffee and donuts and then we set up to fish. It was really foggy and was fun to watch the fog wisp across the lake. We stayed for a couple of hours but didn't end up catching anything. Makayla's theory is if you don't catch any fish then it doesn't count!

Are you DIZZY yet?

On Wednesday my mom and I took the kids back to the fair and I bought them dizzy passes so they could go on as many rides as they wanted. They both LOVED it and I lost track of how many rides they went on. I would guess at least 20 each. It was Fair Day for the Puyallup school district and so it was super busy but they still got to get their fill. Dylan loved going on all the blue rides. Makayla was a super big help with Dylan and went on all the rides with him and would help him buckle up and get in and out of the rides. Next year I will have to be sure to take her with one of her friends so that she can go on some of the bigger rides too.

Scones or Ice Cream?

When we were at the Fair on Sunday Kerri was talking to Dylan about getting some scones. She said, "Come on let's go find a scone." He was pretty excited about this idea and said, "Yeah ice cream!" Kerri looked at him and said, "No, not ice cream, scones." To which he replied, "Listen (as he grabs the side of her face with both hands), scones comes from ice cream."

He thought they were getting ice cream CONES, we laughed so hard! He wasn't too disappointed when he got his own warm scone filled with strawberry jam though. (He would later get the ice cream!)

I love how kids think ;-)

Fair, Food and Firsts

Sunday we went to the Fair. We all love the fair and was there ALL day. We started out with the Pavilion to see my Mom's quilt. This is the first time that she has ever enter a quilt in any show. We walked upstairs to find it and discovered that she won 1st place and best in her category!!! She was absolutely elated! Congratulations Mom, you quilt queen!!!!!!! It was so fun to see and was a great way to start out the day.

The rest of the day was spent eating and eating, oh and did I mention eating? Yes we are all bad fair food junkies and between the 7 of us (Me, Tom, Makayla, Dylan, My Mom, Ray, and Kerri) we managed to consume: Scones, corn dog, hot dogs, nachos, soft serve ice cream, strawberry shortcake, corn on the cob, a cow-drop cookie, large batch of curly fries, hamburger, Carmel apples, cotton candy, rainbow suckers, chicken burger (I'm sure there is more but I don't dare continue)! We looked at quite a bit of the animals, went to the petting farm, the kids got their faces painted and we let the kids go on 2 rides each, just enough to be in the mood for dizzy passes on another day. We also looked around at all the fabulous gadgets to buy. We managed to buy a few and headed home all beat and ready for bed. Here's to another great year at the Fair!

1st Day of 2nd Grade

OK so I am a little behind but it has been a busy week! Last Wednesday was Makayla's 1st day of 2nd grade. She was SO excited to get back to school. Tuesday night we went and met her teacher and looked around her classroom. Makayla found her name and picked out a desk to sit at. Dylan wanted to know where his name was and was a little upset that he wasn't going to school. So when she got home from school she informed me that it was AWESOME. I am so glad that she loves school so far!
