Spook-tacular Weekend

Starting on Friday we had such a busy but fun weekend! Here's a recap of all our social outings:

Friday

My mom and I took Makayla and Dylan to Makayla's school Harvest Party. We had a good time at all the games. We did the cake walk and Dylan won. He picked out frosted sugar cookies. For the 2nd hour my mom and I were the volunteers for taking pictures with a scarecrow (Mr Roy, the 4th grade teacher). We had a lot of fun doing it and it made me want to take pictures even more. Makayla and her friend Abby were supposed to keep an eye on Dylan while we took pictures but quickly pawned him off on Abby's mom(Thanks Janai!). Makayla had entered a painted pumpkin in the school contest and won an award for most creative use of a pumpkin. It had to be a character from a book and she did Viola Swamp from Miss Nelson is Missing! Saturday

On Saturday Dylan and I went to see Backyardigans Live-Tale of the Mighty Knights at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle. It was so cute and Dylan LOVED it. He thought we were going to a movie and so was a little disappointed that there wasn't any popcorn. We had really good seats and all the characters were cute. Tyrone is Dylan's favorite and he was a mighty knight.

While we were enjoying the show Daddy and Makayla went to the Pacific Science Center. Makayla loves going there and is really able to enjoy all of the experiments that are there. It was fun for them to spend some special time together.

Saturday night we went to my sister Michele's annual Halloween Party. This is an adult party so the kids stayed with Grammy and Papa while we went out. The theme was "A play on Words" or a Pun Party. I was dressed as a kitty and dropped stuff all over so I was kitty litter. Tom had a shirt on that said Bless You on it and wore a mask and he was A Blessing in Disguise. We had a good time.

Sunday
Truly a day of resting! Well not really I suppose. Tom and Ray went fishing and I cleaned the house. In the evening we carved our pumpkins. Makayla picked an owl and Dylan picked a happy face. We downloaded free templates at http://www.dltk-holidays.com/halloween/mpatterns.htm.
